中村先生の講演会の中で、お話してくださった
私が、これまで 生きてこれたのは、
こういった 隣る人の支え、物語る人の存在が大きかったなーと、実感しました。
思い悩んだとき、
私が 腑に落ちるように、
私の 腹に収まるように、
言葉をくれた人々。
その人たちのおかげで、私は、今こうして 生きているんだと、思いました。
なっこには、障がいがあると診断を受け、
「私が、何か悪いことをした バツなのだろうか？」
「妊娠中、脳貧血で倒れたことが原因だろうか？」
様々、自分のせいかも？ と原因を探し、
自分のせいなら、どうしよう？と、不安に陥っていた頃、
「お母さんのせい なんかじゃない！」と、言ってくれた人。
「育て方のせいでも ない！」と言ってくれた人。
「原因は、わからないではなくて、原因は、ないんだよ！」と言ってくれた人。
「お母さん、大丈夫ですか」と、心配をしてくれる人。
いつでも、頼れる存在と感じさせてくれました。
私の凝り固まった 悲しみは、少しずつ 溶けていきました。
そもそも、障がいあるということが、いかにも悪いこととして捉えていた自分に疑問を持ち、
障がいって？ なんだろう？と、 考えるように なりました。
「障がいは、個性」
神様的には、
障がいを与えたというよりも、
個性の範ちゅうなんじゃないか？
と、思うようになりました。
その社会が、成熟していない事から、
適応出来ない人々のことを「問題」と捉えているだけなんじゃないだろうか？
社会は、一人の人間の気持ちを反映しているような気がしていて
まずは、自分の中の許容範囲を広くするべく、
なっこのことで、言えば、
なっこの行動を恥ずかしいと思う自分に気づき、
そういった思いを小さくすることが、重要だと思い始めました。
なっこのことを
「かわいい！」といてくれた人。
その一言で、どれだけ私の心が温かくなったことか。
なっこは、なっこのままで 受け入れてくれる人たちの存在に勇気づけられました。
「かわいく踊っちょったよ！」
「なっこちゃんの写真も撮れたから、あげる！」
「なっこちゃん、動物や野菜の名前をよく知ってるね～」
「うちの子が、よくなっこちゃんの話をしてくれるよ！」
同じ年の子どもを持つ 親さんからも、たくさん たくさん 言ってもらいました。
お友だちも大きくなるにつれ
「なっこちゃん！」と出会うたびに、呼びかけてくれて、
「なっこちゃんがね～今日ね～私の名前言ってくれたんだよ！」など教えてくれます。
障がいがあるから、こうなるかもしれない あーなるかもしれない・・その時が来たらどうしよう？？と、不安いっぱいで、話す私に、
「その時が来たら、 （いっしょに） 考えましょう！」
と、言ってくれた人。
何があっても、必ず、支えになります というような 覚悟を持って 向き合ってくれる人。
今、あの頃のことを思い出しても、
ありがたくて 心が震え涙が出ます。
周りからの、こういった ありがたい愛を 受け取る感度を強く 強くして、
ここまで 来ました。
少しくらい 嫌な態度、言葉を投げかけられても、それを受け取れないほど、
その愛は、大きくて、私を支えてくれました。
私も、わずかなことでも 誰かの 隣る人 でありたいと、思います。
巡り巡って、その思いは、我が子の 隣る人 になってくれるような気もします。
親の死後、我が子を守ってくれるのは、そういった事が、実は、大きいんじゃないかと
本気で思っています。
私自身が、両親や祖父母からのそういった恩恵を受けていると感じつつ、生きているから・・・。
中村先生のお話を聴いて、
自分自身が、まっとう と思える 生き方をしたいと思いました。
